CAPIZNON WOMEN TRAINED ON CORN HUSK VALUE-ADDING

Output presentation after the two-day hands-on activity on corn husk value-adding.

A total of 30 Capizon corn farmers attended the 3-day training on Gender and Development cum Corn By-products processing held at Nestas Hilltop Hotel, Roxas City, Capiz.
Various statutory mandates that provide protection and development to women such as The Magna Carta for Women (RA 9710), Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (RA 7877) and Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act (RA 9262). The above topics was discussed by Ms. Nieva Camposano, Provincial GAD Focal Person of Capiz.

Ms. Myrna Reyes, regional corn farmer awardee from Passi City served as Resource Person in Corn By-products Processing. The participants were taught how to make flowers out of corn husks (roses, margarita), bouquet, and Christmas decors.

“Daku gid ang amon pagpasalamat sa ATI sa paghatag sa amon sang training nga ini. Ang cornhusk sa amon lugar ginatukdan lng namon ilabi na gid kung wala mn kami kasapatan nga sarang magkaon. Paagi sa training nga ini magahimu kami sang mga produkto nga sarang pa namon makwartahan”, says Mary Nestlie Denosta, participant from Maayon, Capiz.
