Farmers Receive Free Range Chicken, Back to Basics Promoted

SAN ISABELA, Isabela. The National Livestock Program through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is promoting ‘Back to Basic: A Scientific and Sustainable Poultry and Livestock Production’. It is a campaign towards a profitable and sustainable livestock and poultry industry. It provides module as a starter kit to farmers who attended the one-day campaign.

For the second batch of the modules distribution, another 266 farmer-recipients were given one module compose of 10 females and two males free range chicken. “Each farmer received 1 module and they are expected to pass the module to other farmer with the same age and number of chicken after they were able to reproduce the chickens provided to them,” Dr. Maurieann Turingan said.

For the said batch, these were given to the farmer-recipients of San Mateo, Angadanan, San Mariano, Isabela; Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya and Aglipay, Quirino. The modules were awarded to the recipients together with the municipal agriculturists and extension workers of the said municipalities. It was held last November 15, 2018.
