DIADI, Nueva Vizcaya. The 4H Garden in the School was formally launched in Diadi National High School last October 15, 2018.
Ms. Anna Liza Claveron said that the 4H Garden in the School is a supplemental intervention to the Gulayan sa Paaralan project of the Department of Education and the Department of Agriculture. “This is in support to the agenda of DA Secretary Manuel Piñol to reintroduce agriculture in the school system.
This will develop interest and passion to the students to engage in farming at the same time to appreciate the 4H Club as a youth organization,” Claveron further stressed.
Through the 4H Garden in the School Program, selected schools will establish and maintain a garden with selected grade school pupils and students. The ATI will provide crop production technology trainings, organizational development, leadership and other social trainings to develop the knowledge and skills of these school children in farming and leadership skills.
The school will be provided with assistance in the establishment of the school garden. A field day is also expected to be conducted to showcase interventions applied.
Other than the Diadi National High School in Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya, other schools having the same program are Gamu Rural School in Gamu, Isabela and Sta. Barbara Elementary School in Iguig, Cagayan.
