The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) imparted the hydroponics technology through a free seminar during the 4H 5th Regional Youth Camp at San Mateo, North Central School, Salinungan West, San Mateo, Isabela last April 11, 2019.

Dr. Joel V. Pangangaan of Isabela State University served as the resource person on the said seminar and delivered a lecture and demonstration on hydroponics technology.
“Water is a vital part of any living cell. Without water our life would be useless, plants can’t grow healthy and even animals,” he said.
Hydroponics is a system that can grow plants through the use of mineral nutrient solution in water without soil.
In his demonstration, he emphasized and promoted the Snap A and Snap B nutrients product of University of the Philippines Los Baños invented by Dr. Ocampo and Dr. Santos. He shared that he usually used these solutions for his Hydroponics as some instant nutrients and maintain good quality of his produce.
By giving an insight on hydroponics, he always says that “hydroponics is all about enriching water and its soil less culture na malaki ang naitutulong sa ating komunidad by bringing innovation and development in agriculture at sa financial na pangangailngan.” ### Queenly Mae G. Magyawi (OJT)
