Moving up for better operational standards, the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center region 02 has once again certified by TUV-SUD, a third party certifying body, this time for the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the Quality Management System. Center Director Renato A. Maguigad received the certificate during the ATI 31st Anniversary celebration last January 29, 2018 at ATI Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.
The certification issued is a result of the third-party audit conducted by TUV-SUD on November 29, 2017 wherein the Center had successfully battled the Audit with zero Non-conformity (NC), one Minor NC and two Opportunities for Improvement (OFI). The programs and services being certified are: development and provision of trainings; knowledge products and services; accreditation of extension service providers; scholarships; alliance building; and national extension system planning, monitoring and evaluation.
“The cooperation of everyone paved the way to the success of the third party audit,” said Center Director Renato A. Maguigad to ATI-RTC 02 staff. He congratulated everyone and encouraged the staff to continue the dedication and passion in serving the clients.
According to the International Organization for Standardization stated on their website, organizations that that aims to obtain ISO 9001:2015 ‘needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.”
The Quality Management System of ATI-RTC 02 has been compliant to the international standards since it obtained the ISO 9001:2008 certification last year.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification has also issued to ATI Central Office and other six training centers (Cordillera Administrative Region, Regions VI, VIII, XII, XIII, and the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry).
The certification is in compliance with Executive Order No. 605, Series of 2007 entitled ‘Institutionalizing the Structure, Mechanisms and Standards to Implement the Government Quality Management Program, Amending for the Purpose of Administrative Order No. 161, Series of 2006.’
