DFP names Kwentong Agri Winners

First Placer Christian Remegio and and farmer-partner Janette Cadiente received their prizes for their video entry “Paggawa ng Vermicompost at ang mga benepisyo nito”

The Digital Farmers Program (DFP) announced two winners of the Kwentong Agri video making contest for DFP San Mateo, Isabela. Winners received their awards and prizes during the 33rd Anniversary Celebration of ATI at Regional Training Center 02, San Mateo, Isabela.

The “Paggawa ng Vermicompost at ang mga benepisyo nito” by Christian Remegio and and farmer-partner Janette Cadiente bagged the First Place. While the entry titled “Tilapia Fingerlings Production” by Arnel Santiago and youth-partner Christian Sicam got the second place.
Video entries were evaluated based on content (35%), use of digital tools (20%), and Facebook views (10%). The winning participants are expected to move up to the DFP 102 contest.

The first place received a certificate, P15,000 cash prize and a ‘digisack’ containing vlogging tools such as smartphones, tri-pods, solar powerbanks, flash drive, and lapel microphones which they can use in creating their contents. On the other hand, the second place also received a certificate, P10,000 cash prize and a ‘digisack’.

The Kwentong Agri contest was launched in 2019 during the conduct of the DFP 101 in San Mateo Isabela. Entries are 3-minute videos packaged by the partnership by a farmer and youth featuring technologies and best practices. These were uploaded on Facebook Page of DFP San Mateo

DFP is a collaborative undertaking of the Agricultural Training Institute and the Smart Communications, Inc. Public Affairs Group. It aims to capacitate the farmers and youth in maximizing the information and communication technologies such as mobile applications and social media in accessing and disseminating agri-fishery information.

The DFP 101 was conducted in selected provinces in the country.
