SAN MATEO, Isabela. Two season-long Farmers’ Field School on Good Agricultural Practices on Lowland Vegetables Production had their culminating activity in November. Said FFS were conducted in partnership with the Local Government Units of Maddela, Quirino and Jones, Isabela.
“Buy Local. Eat Local. Support our Rice Farmers,” this is the battle cry of the 2019 National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) being celebrated this month of November.
The ATI-RTC 02 and PhilRice Isabela together with the rice farmers of San Mateo Isabela conducted a Be RICEponsible campaign on November 8, 2019, to open the month-long celebration.
Farmers from Cauayan City and San Mateo, Isabela have now easier and faster access to agri-fishery knowledge and information through the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) conducted on November 5 and 6, respectively.

It was a good practice of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 02 (ATI-RTC 02) conducting mass graduation of its different training and extension activities. The mass graduation was participated by around 1400 graduates from different municipalities of region 02.
A regional information caravan on Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) for the Provincial and Municipal/City Agriculturists, and extension workers of region 02 was a good start for the implementation of the RCEF activities in the region.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has launched another School-on-the Air (SOA) program dedicated for backyard raisers and farmers to address the issues on animal waste management. The program is being aired over DWPE Radyo Pilipinas 729 kHz every Wednesday 5:00 to 6:00 in the morning from September 4 to November 13.
Ilagan City. Around 400 farmers of the ATI-LGU farmers’ field schools on integrated crop management for corn in fourteen municipalities of region 02 participated in the two-day corn derby cum corn-livestock integration summit.
CABAGAN, Isabela. Having a critical role in creating awareness on climate change among the farmers as the most vulnerable sector, agricultural extension workers participated in a three-day training on climate change advocacy.
Back to Basic Seminar featured scientific and sustainable livestock and poultry production. The one-day seminar was held to create awareness and interest of small livestock and poultry growers on sustainable production of livestock and poultry. It was held on August 14, 2019 at the Livelihood Training Center, San Mateo, Isabela.
