LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted a one-day stakeholders’ consultation on February 26, 2018.
This was participated by 60 participants comprising Provincial and Municipal Corn and Cassava Focal persons, farmers and personnel from the Department of Agriculture (DA) - Caraga.
“To avoid duplication of our programs and activities implemented by DA and ATI we were able to align and resolve the issues and conflicts since our goal is to have a smooth and harmonized implementation of programs towards a sustainable corn production.” Stated Ms. Rebecca R. Atega, Field Operations Division Chief of DA-Caraga.
Moreover, Mr. Neptali V. Madarimot, ATI Corn/Cassava Focal person presented a set of extension activities, the CY 2018 program accomplishment and the CY 2019 plans and programs.
During the session representatives from different Local Government Units (LGUs) signified their support and willingness to conduct such activities. All target training and extension activities related to corn and cassava commodities are all well-distributed to the five provinces.
Aside from plans and programs, the participants also raised their issues and concerns regarding the implementation process in their respective LGU. They also presented their 2020 training needs through a planning-workshop and an open forum discussion.
Said meeting was held at ATI-Caraga Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City. This was done to have a strong coordination with stakeholders and ensure a harmonized implementation of corn and cassava program in the region.
