KIDAPAWAN CITY- The ATI-RTC XII landed here in a far-flung area of Sitio Lapan, Barangay Perez last December 5 to give aid to earthquake-affected families which jolted the city last October this year.
A series of strong earthquakes were felt by most of the residents in the Province of North Cotabato- devastating more houses, building and establishments. One of the most affected areas is in Kidapawan City.
Among the priority recipients of the assistance given were the 4-H Club members of Barangay Perez.
Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an said that the center wants to extend assistance to the families of the 4-H Club Members and Rural Improvement Club members who were seriously affected by the strong earthquake.
“Now is the time to extend our hands and do an act of humanity. The 4-H Club and RIC have been our partners in delivering extension services. It is high time to help them cope up with the damages brought about by the earthquake”, said CD Daya-an during the distribution at Barangay Perez.
CD Daya-an led the distribution of forty-five (45) water containers with faucet. He also handed over the Php50k cash assistance to Ms Judy Gomez and Ms Charity Tayapad, Provincial 4-H Focal Person and City 4-H Focal Person, respectively.
MS Gomez said that the cash assistance shall be used to purchase materials in the restoration of the damaged houses of the 4-H Club members.
“We have already identified ten (10) 4-H Club members. Through this cash assistance, we will be the one to purchase materials in helping them restoring and rebuilding the damages of their houses”, she said in an interview.
The cash assistance given was raised and collected from the donations of various ATI-Regional Centers to wit: ATI-RTC IX, ATI-RTC II, ATI-RTC CAR, ATI-RTC IV-B and ATI Central Office.
The distribution activity was simultaneously conducted with the outreach activity of the Federation of 4-H Club in North Cotabato and the Office of the City Vice Mayor.
