TANTANGAN, South Cotabato - Enticing the youth towards agriculture has been an uphill battle for agencies of the government. Despite gloomy turnout, efforts are exerted in order to reach that silver lining in the clouds.

The Agricultural Training Institute came up with new tactics to promote indigenous technologies in growing agricultural products in the form of “Search for Kabataang OA”. This strategy is implemented nationwide and in Region XII it was held on October 3, 2019. Prior to the event invitations were sent to State Universities and Colleges for representatives from their respective institutions.

To make learning more engaging for the youth the activity set up quiz bee for participating schools. Having a friendly competition certainly spark interest and in the same time, knowledge and facts on organic agriculture are disseminated thru the quiz questions.

The activity was held at ATI-RTC XII, San Felipe, Tantangan, South Cotabato and was participated by 46 eager students from different SUCs.

At the culmination of the activity, Ms. Arshen Mamaran Acla of Mindanao State University – General Santos City Campus took the crown of “Kabataang OA” and will represent Region XII in the National Kabataang OA this coming November 2019.
