LGU-Kiamba receives Php 3M Goat Multiplier Farm

KIAMBA, Sarangani Province- A total of Php 3M worth of Goat Multiplier Farm was turned over to LGU-Kiamba last June 26, 2019 at the Municipal Nursery, Brgy. Tambilil, this Municipality.
Assistant Secretary for Livestock Enrico Garzon, Jr said that this project is in support to the National Livestock Program.
“We are giving these projects to associations and cooperatives wherein they are currently venturing into goat production. Before, we are doing dispersal to every member. However, when certain occasions come, they tend to slaughter it”, he said.
“Under this goat multiplier farm, the beneficiary associations or cooperatives are given responsibilities to reproduce animals for dispersal. The only counterpart of the LGUs is to raise animals and after how many months they will give its offspring to their members”, he further added.
On that day, Launching of Artificial Insemination (AI) sa Barangay was also conducted. AI sa Barangay is a joint project between the ATI-RTC XII and LGU of Kiamba which is also in support to the National Livestock Program.
Mr. Gerry Pagarigan, DVM, Livestock Focal Person of ATI-RTC XII, said that any interested swine growers may bring their sows to the facility for insemination.
LGU-Kiamba received the following: AI facility, microscope, collecting jar, thermostat, sterilizer, fees, refrigerator and aircon.
“We are very glad that the DA and ATI chose LGU-Kiamba to be one the recipients of the Goat Multiplier Farm and AI sa Barangay. This is a big help for us. Rest assured that we have received will be used and well taken cared of for the benefits of our famers”, said Mr. Antonio Lazaña, LGU-Kiamba Vice-Chair for Agriculture Committee.
DA-RFO Regional Executive Director Ms Milagros Casis and other local officials also attended the turn-over ceremony and Launching of AI sa Barangay.
