BAGUMBAYAN, Sultan Kudarat- Joining the consortium of Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) in Region XII is the newly launched Feta Farm. Situated at Barangay South Sepaka, this farm has a total land area of 10 hectares. Six hectares are intended for poultry-raising with the integration of other crops and animals. While the other four hectares are for the rice and corn production.

Meanwhile, Mr. Edwin Fetalino, owner of Feta Farm, has shared his secret on how to become a millionaire thru farming, “Sipag at tiyaga lang talaga”, he said. Aside from raising 300 heads of chicken, Mr. Fetalino is also involved in swine production. In fact, he named it as “Babuyang Walang Ligo”. He raises 29 heads of swine for fattening and three dry sows.

Additionally, what makes Feta Farm unique among other farms is the mobile house for chickens. This mobile house has wheels and enclosed on a 20mx30m fence. It is designed to let the chicken roam around and fed on the weeds. According to Mr. Fetalino, the weeds will be wiped out after 21 days through this mobile house for chicken.

Center Director Abdul I. Daya-an expressed his support during the launching. On this message, he is very glad that another learning site has been added to the Province of Sultan Kudarat. “This is the 3rd learning site in Sultan Kudarat. With that, malaking tulong ito dahil hindi na kami mahihirapan sa ATI na maghanap ng mabilihan ng manok kasi nandito na ang Feta Farm”, he said. Mr. Fetalino received a P10,000 cash assistance as a financial support from the Local Government Unit of Bagumbayan.

The said launching was attended by ATI-RTC XII staffs, local and provincial officials and representatives from Department of Labor and Employment.
