PIGCAWAYAN, Cotabato – Farmers should always use good seeds to achieve good yield. The more yield, the merrier the farmer is. This reality inspires the Agricultural Training Institute to continuously provide trainings on hybrid and inbred rice seed production. One of these is the training for the beneficiaries of the Farm Consolidation Model in Pigcawayan, Cotabato held on February 17-21, 2020 at GBS III Agro Farms.
During this training, difference between hybrid and inbred rice were presented. The nine keychecks under the PalayCheck System and Seed Grower Certification requirement were also discussed to the 33 participants who attentively and eagerly learned.
Mr. Carlito Cordero, one of the participants, said “Dako gid na bulig sa amon nga mga farmers ning training kay naintindihan namon kung paano ang Palay Check nga makabulig sa amon panguma” (this is a great help for us farmers to learn on the Palay Check System that we can use in our farming).
With impressions like this, the center is more hopeful that the trained individuals can also become a blessing to other farmers in their community.
