TANTANGAN, South Cotabato- On the last quarter of 2019, the center conducted two batches of trainings for Swine Raisers in Region XII that produced 44 trained individuals.
The Skills Training on Artificial Insemination (AI) was conducted on October 23-25, at ATI-RTC XII with 19 trainees who undergone actual demonstration on proper collection of boar semen and inseminating an in heat gilt. The graduates received an AI training kit as a post-training support.
Another batch of training for swine raisers was conducted on November 11-13 at the same training venue. This was on Sustainable Pig Farming with 25 participants mostly from South Cotabato. The graduates received a health care kit that they may use in swine raising.
One of the trainees, Mr. Randy Caloyloy, said that he was really thankful for the opportunity to be trained and learn more on swine health and nutrition. This, he said, will not only help him in in swine raising but will soon impact their community as he is willing to share what he learned from the training to his neighbourhood.
