ATI XI orients new LSAs in Davao Oriental

To emphasize the important role of the Learning Site Agriculture (LSA) program of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) as demonstration sites in cascading doable agricultural technology in every municipality, ATI XI conducted a one-day LSA Orientation at Provincial Agriculture Office, Davao Oriental on October 11, 2019.

Participants of the orientation were the 12 newly certified LSA cooperators of the said province namely: Samuel J. Edausos, Atcher E. Lipio, Jorge T. Bala, Fr. Gene P. Gilos, Renerio D. Dilag, Nelly Racsa, Edgardo T. Arisola, Rosalinda Adalim, Osman Macarona, Amado V. Arciaga, Edna G. Deypalubos, and Chorna Cabanag.

During the orientation, ATI XI personnel Mr. Omarbliss B. Dalam, Partnership and Accreditation Section (PAS) Chief, explained to the new cooperators their responsibilities and obligations of being the new partners of the institute in the implementation of training and extension interventions, particularly for hands-on training.

“As LSA your farms will now be opened to anyone who wants to learn your farm technology. You must be available to share your knowledge with them”, he stressed.

Dalam also encouraged them to further develop their areas to become farm tourism sites, seizing the opportunity that their province is a known tourist destination in Region XI.

Moreover, the PAGRO Davao Oriental represented by Ms. Anasol S. Reintar, Supervising Agriculturist, conveyed their full support of the program and expressed their willingness to counterpart in its implementation.

ATI XI has now 50 LSA and 7 School for Practical Agriculture (SPA).
