Management and staff of the Agricultural Training Institute in Region XI finally met the newly appointed ATI National Director Alfredo S. Aton, MPS-DM during his visit at the Center on February 22.
Dir. Aton, who came early in the morning from Manila, showed his relaxed yet vibrant personality as he settled in an informal breakfast chat with some of the management personnel headed by Center Director Dante G. Esguerra.
Right after, the ATI overall head graced the opening program of the one-day Stingless Beekeeping Seminar held in the Center’s training hall.
In his message, Aton said that the ATI has been capitalizing on programs and trainings intended for farmers to reach the grassroots as mandated by Sec. Emmanuel F. Piñol. He also emphasized that the Institute is focused on making ways and means to promote agriculture to the youth to attract them to engage in farming and become future farmers.
Subsequently, Esguerra toured Aton around the vicinity to show him the newly constructed buildings and innovations in the Center like the Meliponiculture Farm, adoption of containerized gardening, and the Participatory Technology Development Area for Organic Rice Production.
This is Aton’s first official visit in ATI-RTC XI after his appointment as ATI national director on December last year.
