Shelter the homeless, comfort the afflicted, feed the hungry, visit the sick and forgive offenses, these are some of the inspirational adages posted on the wall of the Divine Mercy Church inside the Jesus King of Mercy Homecare Foundation Inc. in Brgy. Orok, Surigao City. They took care of the elderly especially to those homeless and abandoned one as reflected with their burning passion of helping others.
Age is mind over matter. This was proven by 34 senior citizens of Butuan City who despite frailty of old age, vowed to be healthy and productive citizens in the community by becoming strong implementers and advocates of urban gardening. Thanks to the Agricultural Training Institute who fueled this willpower after its conduct of the “Training on Urban Gardening for Senior Citizens” last March 29-31, 2017 at the ATI-Regional Training Center based at Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan City.

Ten scholars from Caraga Region, who were lucky to avail the 4H Youth Empowerment through Sustainable (YES) program, graduated from the two-year diploma course on Organic Agriculture and Entrepreneurship at the ACES Polytechnic College at Panabo City, Davao del Norte last March 28, 2017.
The participants from the two batches of RCM training generated 187 RCM recommendations that were explained to the farmers specifically on the fertilizer application.
Two staff of ATI-Caraga completed the four-day Training on Module Development at the Rural Development and Education Center (RDEC), ATI-Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City last March 14-17, 2017. Ms. Violeta Laguna, TS II, and Mr. Jason Jampac, ISS staff, comprised the 1st batch of participants for 2017. The modules they developed were “Training Module on Making Organic Fertilizers” and “Training Module on Basic Journalism for AEWs and ESPs”.

Twenty-four (24) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) in Caraga currently trained for the use and operation of the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) in the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Caraga, Los Angeles, Butuan City on March 20-23, 2017.

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 successfully conducted the 1st Quarter RAFEN meeting on March 17, 2017. This was well represented by the personnel from the National partner-agencies, Local Government Units (LGUs) and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
LS Cooperators as participants during the training There were forty (40) participants comprising Learning Site (LS) Cooperators and other interested farmers in Caraga who joined in the 3-day training on Facilitation Skills and Assessment of Learning Sites.
Two (2) Information Services Section (ISS) staff of ATI-Caraga successfully completed the 4-day training on Beyond Design: Developing ATI’s Corporate Materials. This was well participated with sixteen (16) Regional Training Centers (RTCs) of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI). Said training aims to let participants design a brochure, poster, magazine cover page and newsletter integrating the basic principles of photography.

The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 successfully conducted the consultation and planning workshop for the Rural-Based Organization (RBO) and 4-H (Head, Heart, Hands, Health) programs. Said activity aims to discuss plans for 2017 implementation as well as the individual issues and concerns raised in each RBO members along with the possible recommendations. Presentations of RBO and 4-H accomplishments for 2016 was also highlighted during the activity also with the formulation of action plans.
The Caraga State University (CSU) held a meeting for the reactivation of the Caraga Consortium for Agriculture Forestry and Resources Research and Development (CCARRD) in CSU Conference Room, Ampayon, Butuan City on February 23, 2017.
The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 will conduct a training on Facilitation Skills in ATI-Caraga Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City on February 28-March 2, 2017. The training will be participated by thirty-four (34) accredited/certified ATI Learning Site Cooperators and six (6) interested farmers in Caraga.
As the training arm of the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is mandated to provide leadership and excellence in agriculture and fishery technologies for a more proactive and responsive extension services. It aims to empower its citizen-customers through quality extension delivery services.

To start the year right, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted a four-day Year-end Assessment and Management Review in the Center’s Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City on January 3-6, 2017.
