The SPIN Workshop is meant as a platform in crafting programs for the youth to address the needs of their community.

Lantapan, Bukidnon---The steady decline of Filipinos engage in farming and agriculture in general has been felt in the past years that farm produce also continue to dwindle. With an average age of 57, the farmer of today is having a hard time coping with the demands of the consumers in the country. Coupled with that predicament is the sharp decline of students enrolled particularly young students who want to get involved in agriculture.

Claveria, Misamis Oriental---Realizing the importance of empowering deserving students and harnessing the potential of today’s youth, a deliberate support by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC X) through its Scholarship Program on Continuing Education for the Youth has been granted to five 4th year students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTsP)-Claveria which transpired on July 24, 2017.

Cogon, Cagayan de Oro City---With the intention to capacitate its roster of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) as project developers in the field of agriculture in terms of writing a winning project proposal, a Writeshop on Project Proposal Preparation was mounted lately by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X).
 

Project Proposals are necessary to carry on the food security efforts in the country and help decrease poverty incidence in Region-X.

 El Salvador, Misamis Oriental---As partners in disseminating agricultural knowledge, information as well as breakthrough farming technologies to capacitate farmers and AEWs in the countryside, the Information Services team headed by section chief Noemi Beth G. Macario, together with some selected ISS staff and three on the job trainees (OJTs) from CMU namely Raissa Magallanes, Coleen Joloyohoy and Witnegen Borja headed for Misamis Occidental on July 19, 2017 to deliver the equipment to be used for the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Project.

Region IV-A, CALABARZON---The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) personnel through CDMS organized the Upgrade & Intensify: A Farm Tourism and Farm Family Approach Benchmarking. Attended by 16 personnel coming from the different sections of the center, the benchmarking intends to expose and immerse ATI-RTC X personnel to the different Learning Sites (LS) and agritourism sites of Region IV-A .

Figuracion and selected center staff, in partnership with the Provincial Government Unit of Misamis Oriental represented by Dr. Benjamin B. Resma and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Opol, Misamis Oriental attended by Ms. Sarah O. Abella, launched the Farmers Field School (FFS) on Integrated Rice-Duck Farming System (IRDFS) on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Barangay Hall of Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Making Climate Smart Farmers via Farm Business School

Tangub City, Misamis Occidental---To make farmers adaptable and resilient in the changing climate patterns around the globe, a training on Climate Smart Farm Business School was staged recently by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X.
 

All 32 participants who came from Barangay Kauswagan were able to complete the course as per support by their facilitators and local government officials during the Graduation Ceremony.

Poblacion, El Salvador--- A group of farmers from Lanao del Norte dropped by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) at El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental where they were given a brief overview of their farm tour activity.

The farm tour activity is meant to spark interest and passion of the participants to make their respective farms earn a higher income through organic farming and diversifying the livestock they had raised and the crops they had planted.

ATI and Learning Site Owners Unite for Bangon Marawi

 The Officers of the Agri Learning Site Association (ALSA), an association of Learning sites accredited by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and the ATI-RTC X joined hands to deliver 28 sacks of rice for the Marawi Evacuees. The sacks of rice were delivered to the Logistics Hub at the Municipal Auditorium in Linamon, Lanao del Norte after it was coordinated with the the Regional Command and Coordination Center in Barangay Tubod, Iligan City. The group is hoping to come up with more assistance for #BangonMarawi after a meeting with all its members.

 Four (4) employees of ATI-RTC 10 are among the 4th Batch of Scholars of the Master in Public Management major in rural Development (MPM-RD) which started this May. The four employees are: Honey Lou Cababaros-Bastasa of the Information Services Section, Moisa Niña Catiil of the Career Development and Management Section, Cristine Galupo of the Partnership and Accreditation Section and Cheriemy Generol of the Planning and Monitoring Unit. The four will undergo the 18-month program which aims to foster rural development Initiatives in the country.

       Two of Region X’s 4-H Club provincial officers bagged the First Prize of the two categories of the cooking contest conducted by the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10). MR. SANNY DARAMAN, 4-H Club Provincial President of Camiguin, got the Best Vegetable Salad for the Highland Vegetable based Category, while MR. ALJON D. ARBONIDA Vice President for Misamiis Oriental won the first prize for DUCK MEAT Recipe under the livestock based category.

 The husband and wife team of ATI Northernmindanao, Efren and Noemi Beth Macario were among the invited Resource Speakers during the ASEAN Training on Sustainable Agriculture Focused on Climate Smart Farming Business. The fourteen-day training was attended by 19 representatives coming from eight (8) member countries, namely Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Lao-PDR, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The training was held at Bayview Park Hotel in Manila and Lima Park Hotel in Batangas. The training started on May 15-27, 2017.
