Ladderized Training on Agricultural Machinery Operation Concluded

USTP-CLAVERIA, CLAVERIA, MISAMIS ORIENTAL--- Attended by 23 agricultural engineers from different Local Government Units (LGUs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and private sectors, a Ladderized Training on Agricultural Machinery Operation RMO NC II transpired for its first batch, Phase II & III.

Participants have undergone different practical trainings and simulations of different rice machines such as tractors with implement, rice mill, flat bed dryer, hand tractor, rice thresher, power sprayer and knapsack sprayer from MOSCAT Farm, Claveria, Misamis Oreintal.

City Agriculture Office, Gingoog City--- The need to provide the banana farmers of Gingoog City the management practices for banana to enhance production has been timely since “Bugtok” is the culprit why they have decreased yield. “Bugtok” is a disease caused by the bacterium Pseudomonas solanacearum which affects mostly the Saba or Cardaba variety of banana.

With an average age of 57, the farmer of today is having a hard time coping with the demands of the consumers in the country. Cogon, Cagayan de Oro City---With the intention to capacitate its roster of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) as project developers in the field of agriculture in terms of writing a winning project proposal, a Writeshop on Project Proposal Preparation was mounted lately by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X).
 

Project Proposals are necessary to carry on the food security efforts in the country and help decrease poverty incidence in Region-X.

 El Salvador, Misamis Oriental---As partners in disseminating agricultural knowledge, information as well as breakthrough farming technologies to capacitate farmers and AEWs in the countryside, the Information Services team headed by section chief Noemi Beth G. Macario, together with some selected ISS staff and three on the job trainees (OJTs) from CMU namely Raissa Magallanes, Coleen Joloyohoy and Witnegen Borja headed for Misamis Occidental on July 19, 2017 to deliver the equipment to be used for the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Project.

Attended by 16 personnel coming from the different sections of the center, the benchmarking intends to expose and immerse ATI-RTC X personnel to the different Learning Sites (LS) and agritourism sites of Region IV-A .

Figuracion and selected center staff, in partnership with the Provincial Government Unit of Misamis Oriental represented by Dr. Benjamin B. Resma and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Opol, Misamis Oriental attended by Ms. Sarah O. Abella, launched the Farmers Field School (FFS) on Integrated Rice-Duck Farming System (IRDFS) on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Barangay Hall of Opol, Misamis Oriental.

Making Climate Smart Farmers via Farm Business School

Tangub City, Misamis Occidental---To make farmers adaptable and resilient in the changing climate patterns around the globe, a training on Climate Smart Farm Business School was staged recently by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X.
 

All 32 participants who came from Barangay Kauswagan were able to complete the course as per support by their facilitators and local government officials during the Graduation Ceremony.

Poblacion, El Salvador--- A group of farmers from Lanao del Norte dropped by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) at El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental where they were given a brief overview of their farm tour activity.

The farm tour activity is meant to spark interest and passion of the participants to make their respective farms earn a higher income through organic farming and diversifying the livestock they had raised and the crops they had planted.
