Candon City, Ilocos Sur – As part of the continuing effort to improve farm production in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) introduced the School on-the-Air (SOA) on Sustainable Lowland Vegetable Production for a Climate Smart and Resilient Agriculture in the province of Ilocos Sur.
Batac City, Ilocos Norte - The Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network 1 (RAFEN 1) held its first quarter meeting to craft the 2017-2021 work plans for the Convergence Initiative Program entitled: “Timpuyog idiay Away Dur-as inna Iburay” or “Damayan sa Barangay, Ginhawa Ibibigay”. The meeting conducted at ATI-RTC 1 Satellite Training Center, Batac City, Ilocos Norte last March 16-17, 2017 was attended by thirty five (35) RAFEN member representatives including guests agencies like DOST and DSWD.

Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan – March 15, 2017 marks the 13th day of the on-going 20-days course on Basic Meat Inspection Training Course (BMITC) at the Agricultural Training Institute, Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I).

Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan - For the year 2017, various activities have already been set for Rural Based Organizations (RBOs). For the purpose of better and smoother implementation of the regional and national activities, the different RBOs in the region were convened on a Consultative Meeting and Planning Workshop at the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I), Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on March 9-10, 2017.

San Fernando City, La Union - The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) and the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office I (DA-RFO I) jointly conducted the harmonization workshop of 2017 Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) of the region last March 3, 2017 at DA-RFO I Conference Hall, San Fernando City, La Union.
Basic Meat Inspection Training Course
Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan - The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) in collaboration with the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) is conducting a 20-day Training Course on Basic Meat Inspection for LGU Meat Inspectors (MI) in Region I. The training started on February 27 and will last until March 24, 2017 at ATI-RTC 1, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

The topics discussed were: the Role of Farmer-Scientist as Leaders in Community Development by Nemesio R. Basug; the Role of Media in Science and Technology Generation and Development by Aldrin Castro; and the Agricultural Extension Tools and Techniques by Maricel D. Dacapias.

Rosario, La Union - Recently, the Director of Agricultural Training Institute visited Rocapor’s Farm, a Learning Site for Practical Agriculture II of ATI- RTC I located at Brgy. Tabtabungao, Rosario, La Union. It is owned and managed by Mr. Rolando M. Rocapor. Last February 17, 2017, he hosted a successful three-in-one event.

Barbara, Pangasinan - The Agriculture Training Institute–Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) conducted the annual Consultation and Planning Workshop for Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Stakeholders in Region I for two batches. The first batch was held at ATI-Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan last February 15, 2017 while the second batch was done at ATI-Batac Satellite Station, Batac City, Ilocos Norte on February 22, 2017.

Diliman, Quezon City - To be able to enhance the delivery of information services to the Institute’s clientele in 2017, the ATI-Central Office together with its Training Centers Information Services Staff were directed to attend and participate in the 1st Knowledge Management (KM) Updates for 2017. This was held at ATI Rural Development and Education Center (RDEC) on February 16-17 and in International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) on February 18, 2017.

Dacapias was invited to attend and act as the Resource Speaker on the topic “Climate Change”. This is to help participants fully understand the principle of the training.
