 The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in its efforts to create a Climate Resilient Agriculture Livelihood and Communities, engaged in educating vulnerable communities on various assessment tools that are used to assess their own areas, identify their vulnerability level as well as their capacities and risks, and take action points that are applicable in their areas. The ultimate goal is to inform key players (community workers) on the science behind the hazards and vulnerabilities affecting their communities.

The Center’s Information Services (IS) team visited the province of Guimaras to teach agriculture students from Guimaras State College (GSC) - Baterna Campus and Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Memorial High School on how to register and enroll in the Institute's e-Learning program. This has made possible thru the request of Ms. Rhea Joy Flora, one of the instructor of Guimaras State College.

POTOTAN, ILOILO - About 30 participants composed of cacao growers and farmers, agricultural extension workers, and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from all over Western Visayas are attended the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 6 training course on Cacao Production, Post-Harvest Handling, and Marketing from April 26-28, 2017, at Pototan, Iloilo.

ATI RTC 6, DA RFO 6 rolls out RCM in Iloilo, Guimaras

ILOILO CITY - Some 34 agriculture extension workers (AEWs) and local farmer technicians from the provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras were trained earlier this week in Iloilo City from April 24-28 as part of the regional roll out on Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Use and Operations.
 
RCM is a web-based decision making tool used with personal computers, tablets, and smart phones to interview irrigated and rainfed low land rice farmers and provide them with a personalized site-specific recommendation on crop and nutrient management.
