SOA on Goat Production Breeds 500 Graduates

 GUINOBATAN, Albay- The School-on-the-Air (SOA) graduates this year  just breached the thousand mark.
This after more than 500 goat raisers from the province of Albay graduated from the distance learning program of the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 5 (ATI-RTC 5) entitled ‘ATIng Kaugnay Tele-Radio Magazine School-on-the-Air on Goat Production.’

Sweet Potato Training Boosts RIC Members

PAMPLONA, Camarines Sur- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 5 in partnership with Provincial Agriculture Ofiice of Camarines Sur and Municipal Agriculture Office of Pamplona, Camarines Sur has conducted 3-day Training on Sweet Potato Production and Processing for Producers and Processors. The beneficiaries were members of the Rural Improvement Club in the said municipality.

Bicol Welcomes New RCM Trainers

 NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur- A new set trainers for Rice Crop Manager (RCM) was added to the roll.
This after around 30 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from different local government units in the region including employees from the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office 5 (DA-RFO 5) have completed the 4-day training course entitled’ Regional Training of Trainers on RCM Use and Operations.’

Tier 2 Needs Assessment in Sorsogon Completed

SORSOGON- After 3 weeks, the needs assessment of the farmers, fisher folks and other concerned sectors in the province of Sorsogon was completed. This is part of the activities under the Tier 2 program also known as Increasing Agricultural Productivity Towards Food Security and Poverty Alleviation: Extension Support to the Twenty Two (22) Provinces With Highest Poverty Incidence in the Philippines (T2-ES22PPP).

Staff Development Conducted

PILI, Camarines Sur- Twenty-five permanent employees and job order workers of Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 5 (ATI-RTC 5) undergo a Staff Development Program facilitated by the Administrative and Finance (AF) section of the center.
ATI-RTC 5 OIC Vivien Carable gave the opening remarks. She exhorted the employees to continuously deliver quality service as the center is gearing towards ISO certification. Afterwards, AF staff delivered a series of lectures.

RCM TOT Successfully Held

NAGA City, Camarines Sur- To further propagate the use of Rice Crop Manager (RCM) in the region, selected agricultural technicians and rice program coordinators underwent a four-day training and workshop entitled Training of Trainers for Rice Crop Manger Use and Operations. 
Twenty-six participants underwent series of lectures and technical activities such as downloading of applications, using RCM in an online and offline modes and troubleshooting. They also had simulated exercise where participants act out as interviewers and farmers.
